I'm Walking the length of the earth

Lucy Barnard is walking 30,000 km from Argentina to Alaska — aiming to become the first woman to ever complete the journey.

Seriously though

WTF is this all about?

In 35 years since a man first walked the length of the Earth, no woman has done it.

That bugged me.

So I began planning. Officially, three men have walked from Argentina to Alaska — but only one walked between the polar-most extreme cities. That’s what I’ve undertaken. I travel only by foot. Where land ends, I swim or kayak. I sleep in a tent, carry everything I need, and have no on-road support team.

Six years in (excluding the pandemic pause), I’ve walked the length of Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, and almost the entire continental USA. I’m now approaching Canada. Alaska is next.

"Some say it's an impossible dream — but the way I see it is, if he can, I can too."
